Quick Move Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.


General Terms

  1. Safety First:
    We reserve the right to refuse to move any items we deem unsafe for transport. If we find items unsafe, we will inform you immediately and may suggest alternatives to ensure safety during the move.
  2. Follow Instructions:
    A responsible party must be present on the day of your move to provide instructions. This ensures a smooth and efficient move with no miscommunication.
  3. Respectful Service:
    We expect all clients to interact with our team respectfully. Any form of abuse will not be tolerated, and we reserve the right to cease service immediately. We take all necessary steps to protect our staff and maintain professionalism.

Moving Rates & Minimum Charges

  1. No Callout Fee:
    We do not charge a callout fee for our services, meaning you save money from the start. There are no hidden costs.
  2. Minimum Charge:
    Our services are subject to a minimum charge, covering a specific time period. After the minimum charge is exhausted, we charge in half-hour increments. You pay only for the time we spend on your move.
  3. Half-Hour Charges:
    After the minimum charge, any additional time will be billed in half-hour increments. You only pay for the time we use.

Arrival Times & ETAs

  1. Arrival Window:
    We will provide a time window for our arrival due to traffic uncertainties in Sydney. You will receive this window in your booking-confirmation email. We encourage flexibility and patience.
  2. Real-Time Updates:
    We will notify you via call or text with our estimated time of arrival. We strive to arrive within the provided window.
  3. Same-Day-Bookings:
    Same-day-bookings depend on truck availability. If timing is critical, please contact-us for updates.

Truck Size & Parking

  1. Parking Reservations:
    We recommend reserving parking for our truck to save time and avoid delays. If necessary, we may park in a no-parking zone and charge you for any fines incurred.
  2. Height Restrictions:
    Please ensure that the parking area is free from height restrictions to avoid issues.
  3. Truck Loading Capacity:
    Not all items may fit in a single load, even if the weight is within acceptable limits. In such cases, we may need to make additional trips.

Insurance Terms

  1. Insurance Recommendation:
    We recommend obtaining your own insurance policy for added protection during your move. Our insurance covers items while in transit but does not cover items during loading or unloading.
  2. Insurance Coverage Details:
    • Goods In Transit: $100,000
    • Product & Public Liability: $20,000,000
    • Claims must be made within 24 hours of your moving date.

Optional Extras

  1. Free Padded Blankets:
    We provide soft padded moving blankets at no additional cost to protect your furniture.
  2. Specialty Wrapping:
    For fragile items, we offer specialty wrapping at an additional cost:

    • 1–2 items: $30
    • 2–4 items: $50
    • 4–7 items: $75
    • 7–10 items: $100
    • Unlimited wrapping: $150
  3. Limited Moving-Boxes:
    Moving-boxes are available for $5 each, subject to availability.

Moving Outside the Sydney Region

  1. Fuel Levy:
    A 10% fuel levy and travel time charges apply for moves to or from locations outside the Sydney Metro area. You will be notified of these charges upfront.
  2. Toll Charges:
    Any toll charges incurred during the move will be added to your final invoice. Current toll rates include:

    • M5: $15
    • M4: $15
    • M2: $20
    • M7: $20
    • Harbour Bridge: $12
    • Cross City Tunnel: $12
    • M8 Tunnel: $20
    • North Connex: $15

Fatigue Management for Stairs & Difficult Access

  1. Fatigue Levy:
    If your move involves excessive stairs or difficult access, a $50 fatigue levy per mover will be applied to cover the extra physical demands.

Payment Terms

  1. GST Inclusive:
    All payments are inclusive of GST.
  2. Payment Methods:
    We accept most major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Diners, AMEX) with a 2.5% surcharge. We do not accept cash, cheques, EFT, Osco payments, or “pay later” options.
  3. Receipt:
    A receipt will be sent immediately via email upon approval of payment.

Cancelling and Rescheduling Your Move

  1. Rescheduling:
    Rescheduling is free as long as it is done no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled moving date. Same-day rescheduling incurs a $50 fee.
  2. Cancellation:
    • Prior to Moving Date: Full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
    • Same-Day Cancellation: Retention of deposit or minimum charge due to truck and crew allocation.
  3. Written Notice Required:
    All cancellations or changes must be communicated in writing via email or text.

Privacy and Protection of Our Team

  1. Privacy:
    Quick Move values privacy and respects our team and clients’ rights. Please be aware that recording, filming, or photographing our team members without their explicit consent is strictly prohibited.
  2. Legal Rights:
    Violating our team’s privacy may result in legal action under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW).
  3. Handling Your Personal Data:
    We collect and use personal data solely for the purpose of providing our moving services. We take great care to protect your information. For more details on how we handle your data, please refer to our Privacy-Policy.
